About Dearest
A flowing script font set, P22 Dearest was inspired by handwritten characters found in a 19th century German book chronicling a history of the Middle Ages. Both P22 Dearest Script and Swash fonts were designed to be used interchangeably with one another, to create a look that can be tailored to your needs and closer simulate elegant handwriting. There are many snap-on swashes included in P22 Dearest that allow you to embellish your text in many different ways.
PLEASE NOTE:
Due to its drastic ascenders and descenders, use a much larger point size when using P22 Dearest than you normally would with other fonts. Doubling the point size is a good rule of thumb- i.e. for apparent 12pt, use 24 pt.
-As with most script fonts, P22 Dearest is not meant to be typed in all caps- the result will be unreadable!
-Don't worry if some of the extreme ascenders and descenders do not show on screen- in many programs a way to get around this problem is to simply add an extra return before or after your text, and the extremes with then appear on screen.
-Mac Users: For ease in using the Script and Swash fonts together, the snap-on swashes are located in the same positions in both fonts. See the PDF key chart included for their positions.
-Windows Users: Due to technical reasons, these snap-on swashes are available ONLY in P22 Dearest SWASH. In order to make room for these swashes, only the basic character set and punctuation are present. However, the full international character set and punctuation are available in P22 Dearest SCRIPT. For full functionality of P22 Dearest for Windows users, you need both Script and Swash versions, which are designed to work hand in hand with each other. See the PDF key chart included for the snap-on swash positions.
