About Interstate
Interstate is a sans serif superfamily based on the signage alphabets of our Federal Highway Administration, letterforms absorbed at a glance everywhere we drive. Tobias Frere-Jones designed the original fonts in 1993 and 1994 and, with the help of Cyrus Highsmith, has expanded this superfamily into a plethora of enticing text and display styles. Among many uses, Interstate is recommended for Newspaper and Magazine use.
