Gilles Le Corre, founder of the French type studio, GLC, is a painter, calligrapher and engraver. Gilles has been studying medieval art and old books for as long as he can remember. His passion for old types and history is apparent in the fonts he has released. His earliest: 1420. All font designs were painstakingly researched and include details found in period printing specimens and from other historical documents. GLC fonts always include the same rough imperfections that were common with the original release.

Dino dos Santos & his type

DSType was founded in late 1994 by Dino dos Santos and since then designed typefaces for several corporations, magazines and cultural projects. He graduated in Graphic Design by ESAD, Matosinhos in 1994, in 2002 was awarded with an MA in Multimedia Arts at FBAUP, Porto, with a thesis on Digital Typography in Multimedia Environments. He teaches Typographic Studies at ESAD-Matosinhos. DSType's work is featured in several magazines like Computer Arts (UK), Creative Review (UK), Page (DE), Publish (PT), Page (PT), ZOOT (UK / PT), among others. He has designed some notable typefaces like ANDRADE, winner of the Creative Review Type Design Awards, for the Best Revival; VENTURA, awarded with the Certificate of Excellence in Type Design by the Type Directors Club of New York; ESTA (Best Serif Font of 2005 for MyFonts and Favorite Fonts of 2006 for Typographica); ESTILO (Favorite Fonts of 2006 for Typographica); ESTILO SCRIPT (Best Script Font of 2006 for MyFonts); LEITURA (Top 10 Fonts of 2007 for MyFonts, Favorite Fonts of 2007 for Typographica and Silver Award by Clube de Criativos de Portugal). Dino contributes regularly to conferences, seminars and publications.
